This stretch of the Kennet is a chalk stream, with clear water, abundant aquatic life and established fly fishing. Photographing fishing at Barton Court therefore combines landscape and outdoor photography with the people who spend time on the river.

Images range from wider views showing anglers within the landscape to the smaller details of rods, flies, equipment and the river itself.

The aim is to capture the experience of a day on the Kennet naturally: the environment, changing light, concentration of the angler and the character of the river rather than simply recording a catch.
