Fishing Terms & Conditions

BOOKING

Bookings can be made directly through BCE Nominees Limited or any of our selected agents. Bookings must be made directly through our website or via email. A booking will only be confirmed once full payment has been received.

PAYMENT

Once an invoice has been issued to the Client, payment must be made within 30 days of the invoice date. Day rod payments must be made in full at the time of booking.

PRICES

The price of the booking will be stated on the invoice. We reserve the right to amend our prices at any time before a booking is confirmed. However, once a booking has been confirmed in writing by BCE Nominees Limited, the price is guaranteed and will not change.

GIFT VOUCHERS

• These are non-refundable and non-transferable. Gift vouchers are valid for two years from the date of purchase.

•The original purchaser may cancel a voucher for a full refund within 14 days of purchase.

CANCELLATION BY CLIENT

If the Client cancels a booking, the following cancellation charges apply:

• More than 90 days before the booking: 50% of the total cost.

• Less than 90 days before the booking: 100% of the total cost.

We will make every effort to re-let the booking. If successful, 100% of the total cost will be refunded.

CANCELLATION BY BCE NOMINEES LIMITED

We reserve the right to cancel any booking. In such cases, we will offer either an alternative booking of similar value or a full refund of any payments received.

CURTAILMENTS AND LIABILITY BCE

Nominees Limited, and any parties assisting it, are not liable for any delays, restrictions, or cancellations caused by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to:

• Adverse weather conditions

• Flooding, water shortages, or navigational issues

• Industrial action

• Fuel shortages or non-availability of fuel

Additionally, BCE Nominees Limited and its associates accept no liability for death, personal injury, or illness incurred by the Client while fishing on the estate.

HEALTH & SAFETY

We strongly advise all anglers to wear protective eyewear and headwear to prevent accidents. Many insurance providers will not cover incidents where protective eyewear was not worn.

Clients are responsible for their own medical provisions and safety while fishing.

GUIDES

Guides/Instructors work from 10 am until 5 pm. If you require their services outside these hours, then that is by negotiation, and we would ask that you reward the Guide for additional hours in addition to any gratuity that you would normally offer. Our guide price does not include flies, leaders, and a statutory national rod licence.

All Guides/instructors must be hired through Barton Court Estate or our listed agents. Freelance fishing guides are not allowed on our waters.

RULES

• Rod sharing is not permitted.

• Wading in the river is not permitted.

• Maximum take: two fish per rod per day.

• Catch & Release: Rods should exercise restraint, and catch limits will be at the River Keeper’s discretion.

• De-barbed hooks are encouraged.

• All wild fish must be released.

• Only traditional upstream nymph and single dry fly techniques are permitted. If in doubt, please ask.

• Dogs are permitted but must be kept under close control and out of the river. Owners must clean up after their dogs.

• Non-fishing guests must be pre-approved and should remain near the fishing hut rather than walking along the riverbanks.

• All rods must carry a valid EA rod license.

• The customer is liable for all loss and damage to fishing equipment hired

FACILITIES & ACCESS

• Main access: Access from Station Road (What3Words: foresight.exporters.stables). The hard standing is small, so please park respectfully.

• Please note, the old car park and fishing hut are no longer available for day rod use.

• Alternative parking: If the main car park is full, there is parking over the railway bridge before the Dundas Arms (What3Words: brief.aliens.wire).

• Toilet facilities: public toilets are available on the other side of the railway line. (What3Words: ///spades.linguists.ethic)

• Fishing hours: Daylight hours only, from 9:30 AM onwards.

• Gates: If you are the last to leave the car park, please close the gates behind you
